Richview is a Toronto neighbourhood that is located in the former City of Etobicoke in the west end of Toronto. The neighbourhood’s boundaries are Dixon Road in the north, Eglinton Avenue in the south, Royal York Road in the east and highways 427 and 401 in the west. The neighbourhood is also known by its riding name of “Willowridge-Martingrove-Richview.” The neighbourhood can be broken down into smaller regions. These regions include such as Humber Heights, Kingsview Village, Willowridge, Martin Grove Gardens and the Westway, which is also known as St. Phillp’s. Humber Heights is set in he Humber River Valley. Willowridge is located at the far west of the neighbourhood west of Martin Grove. The Westway/St. Phillip’s is in the northwest portion of the Richview neighbourhood. It is located east of Kipling and north of The Westway. Martin Grove Gardens is the area bounded by Kipling, The Westway, Martin Grove, and Dixon. Schools in the Richview neighbourhood include Kipling Collegiate Institute, Richview Collegiate Institute, St Marcellus Catholic Elementary School, Hilltop Middle School and Princess Margaret Junior School. Richview Crime Rates

In the area bordered by Highway 401 in the north, Highway 427 in the west, Martin Grove Road in the east and Eglinton Avenue in the south, there is an average of 7.53 crimes against people per 1000 living and working in the region. There is an average of 9.23 crimes against property per 1000. In the region bordered by Dixon Road, Martin Grove Road, the Westway and Kipling Avenue, there is an average of 6.47 crimes against people per 1000 and 11.15 crimes against property. The area bordered by the Westway, Martin Grove Road, Eglinton Avenue and Kipling Avenue has an average of 9.62 crimes against people and 18.61 crimes against property. The Richview region surrounded by Dixon Road, the Westway, Kipling Avenue and Islington Avenue has an average of 5.27 crimes against people and 22.79 crimes against property per 1000. The area bordered by the Westway, Eglinton Avenue, Kipling Avenue and Islington Avenue has an average of 2.64 crimes against people and 13.19 crimes against property. The area bordered by Dixon Road, the Westway, Islington Avenue and Royal York Road has an average of 5.84 crimes against people and 18.5 crimes against property. Richview Crime

In January 2012, two men were shot near Dixon Road and Kipling Avenue. From the Toronto Star:
The shooting occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the The Westway Plaza parking lot , near Dixon Rd. and Kipling Ave, between TD Canada Trust and Country Style Donuts. Police said the two victims, both 20, were approached by a vehicle and multiple shots were fired. Police said one of the men was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released. The second man was admitted to hospital.
In August 2011, a man was beaten and stabbed in the Eglinton and Martin Grove area. From City TV:
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries early Wednesday after he was stabbed and robbed in the Eglinton Avenue and Martin Grove Road area. Police said the victim was attacked around 1:10 a.m. The man was stabbed in the legs and, apparently, struck with a baseball bat. His attackers took his cellphone. The badly-injured man then made his way to a coffee shop at The Westway and Martin Grove to call 911.
In March 2011, a man was shot and killed in an apartment building in Richview. From City TV:
A 24-year-old man was found dead after a shooting in an Etobicoke apartment building Sunday afternoon. Officials say the victim had been shot in the head. He was found lying in a stairwell of 320 Dixon Rd., west of Islington Avenue, around 1:30 p.m. This fatal shooting marks the city’s 15th homicide of 2011. Police haven’t released the man’s name and haven’t said if he lived in the building.
A man was stabbed in a plaza near Islington and Dixon Road in October 2010. From the Toronto Star:
An 18-year-old man was shot in the abdomen on Sunday shortly after midnight. Police found the man suffering minor injuries in a plaza near Islington Ave. and Dixon Rd. The man was treated at hospital and later released. Police said he was not cooperating.
