Protecting Against the Common Methods Intruders Use to Enter Your Home

One of the best ways to protect your home from intruders is to make it as difficult as possible for them to enter. A locksmith can help you to choose and install the best locks for your doors and windows, and they can also give you advice on other security measures you can take. Another good idea is to keep your property well-lit, both inside and out.Locksmith Mobile Service

Intruders are less likely to target a home that is well lit, as it makes it more difficult for them to remain undetected. Finally, it is always worth being vigilant and keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity in your neighborhood. If you see anything suspicious, don’t hesitate to contact the police. By taking these simple precautions, you can significantly reduce the chances of your home being broken into.

Intruders are less likely to target a home that is well lit and has a vigilant neighbour. How about yours?

Intruder Entering Toronto HouseStrong Deadbolt Locks

A deadbolt lock is one of the most effective ways to secure your home. Unlike a spring bolt, which is held in place by a spring, a deadbolt is held in place by a cylindrical sleeve that fits over the bolt. This makes it much more difficult for someone to force their way through the door.

In addition, most deadbolts have a hardened steel insert that helps to resist sawing and drilling. As a result, deadbolts are an extremely effective means of deterring burglars. While they may not be invincible, they are certainly one of the best options available when it comes to securing your home.

Security Doors

While many people believe that security doors are only necessary for commercial buildings, they can actually be a great addition to any home. Security doors help to deter burglars and other intruders, and they can also provide an additional layer of protection in the event of a fire or other emergency.

Security doors are an important part of any home security system. They provide a physical barrier between your home and the outside world, deterring intruders and keeping your family safe. When choosing a security door, it is important to consider the type of service that is offered. Some companies will provide a 24-hour call center with a quick response time, while others may only operate during business hours. Keyless entry systems are also available, which can be convenient if you need to change your code frequently or if you have multiple people who need access to your home. Regardless of the type of service that you choose, a security door can give you peace of mind knowing that your home is well protected.

In addition, security doors can help to improve energy efficiency by keeping out drafts and regulating the temperature inside your home. Whether you’re looking for added security or simply want to improve the look of your home, security doors are an option worth considering.

Door Frame Reinforcement

The door frame is the most important part of the door. It is what supports the door and keeps it from moving when you close it. The door frame is made up of four parts: the header, the two side jambs, and the threshold. The header is the top part of the door frame. The side jambs are the two vertical parts that support the header.Safe And Secured Door

The threshold is the bottom part of the door frame. The threshold is what keeps the door from swinging open when you close it. Door frames are usually made out of wood, but they can also be made out of metal or plastic.

The most common way to reinforce a door frame is to use metal plates. These plates are screwed into the frame and help to hold it together. Another way to reinforce a door frame is to use dowels. Dowels are pieces of wood that are inserted into drilled holes in the frame. They help to hold the frame together and prevent it from moving. Door frames can also be reinforced with special screws that have large heads and serrated threads. These screws grip the frame and help to keep it from moving.

Smart Locks

Smart Door Locks Toronto Traditional locks and keys have been used for centuries to protect homes, businesses, and other property. However, they are not perfect. Keys can be lost or stolen, and locks can be picked or forced open. This is where smart locks come in.

Summary

Smart locks are a type of high-security lock that uses electronic devices to identify the person trying to unlock the door.

Smart locks are a type of high-security locks system that uses electronic devices to lock and unlock doors. They typically require a PIN code, fingerprint, or another form of biometric identification to gain access. This makes them much more secure than traditional locks, which can be opened with a simple key. In addition, smart locks often come with additional features, such as the ability to track who enters and leaves the property, set up automatic locking and unlocking schedules, and receive alerts if someone tries to force their way in. As a result, they are an excellent way to protect your home or business from intruders.

When To Change Door Locks

Age

The quality of your locking system will deteriorate over time and not perform to its full potential. Many locksmiths may recommend changing door locks every seven years, but this will be dependent on the usage, with less used doors being likely to last for longer and other locks needing changing beforehand.

Damage

Being the most obvious reason for changing your door lock, a damaged lock will require urgent attention as it is a critical vulnerability. Whether you have just faced a break-in, the lock is feeling loose against the door or there are visible signs of wear and tear, getting a professional to address the problem before it is to worsen is highly recommended.

Lost keys

Losing your keys is a stressful event that is an unpleasant experience for everyone. Even though the probability of them getting into the wrong hands is small, it is always better to be safe than sorry by changing door locks just in case. When you change the door lock and get a new set of keys, you can rest assured that your lost keys are no longer a threat to your safety.

Re: Fire Alarm Verification Policy SafeTech Alarm Systems has been protecting people and property for nearly 20 years.  We work to offer the most reliable and effective security services available and to meet and exceed the needs of our clients. Today I would like to inform you of a change in our dispatch process for clients in the Metropolitan Toronto area who are being protected by our fire detection services. The City of Toronto now charges $410.00 for each emergency vehicle it sends to a premises with false fire alarm.  Typically the city sends three trucks to each location, which leads to a $1230.00 fee for a false fire alarm. In order to spare our clients from incurring this charge, our policy for handling fire alarms has changed.  Effective immediately, and unless alternative arrangements have been made, SafeTech will only dispatch the fire department on verified fire alarms.  When our monitoring station receives a fire alarm signal from a Metropolitan Toronto premises, our alarm monitoring station will call the emergency contact numbers we have on file in order to verify that there is an emergency situation taking place.  As soon as the monitoring station determines that there is in fact a fire, the appropriate authorities will be contacted immediately and fire services will be dispatched. This change in policy will reduce the number of false alarms reported to the fire department and will allow clients to avoid incurring this exorbitant new fee. Due to this change, it is important that you ensure your emergency contact list is up-to-date and accurate. We suggest adding your neighbours to the call list. I would like to thank you for working with SafeTech and look forward to continuing our relationship for many years. If you have any questions regarding the new fire alarm policy or any other aspect of our service or if you would simply like to update your emergency contact information, please contact us at 416-229-9902. Sincerely, Sean O’Leary President Safetech Inc.

Our security alarm monitoring partner has 7 central stations throughout Canada and the United States, allowing SafeTech to monitor any premises located in North America. Trust our alarm monitoring system services to keep you safe and protect your property.

Providing service for nearly 25 years, our central alarm monitoring station is a fully redundant state of the art U.L.C listed central monitoring station.

The main central alarm monitoring system station is located in Greater Toronto Area, the heart of Canada’s most populated region.
Our other central stations are located in North Americas most populated regions: Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Arizona, Texas and Florida.

SafeTech’s alarm monitoring services let you monitor your home security system or your commercial security system.

Interactive Video Alarm Monitoring Premises

Remote Video Monitoring Services gives central station operators real time visual and audio communication with the premise they are protecting. Station perators can remotely assist, responding authorities while they investigate .

Remote Video Monitoring can:

  • Deter criminal activity create security awareness with customized “voice downs”
  • Maintain contact until help arrives
  • Provide assistance for ABM’s, kiosks and gates
  • Provide virtual guard tours
  • Remotely audit
  • Provide compliance and activity reporting
  • Eliminate response to non-emergency events
  • Video Verification provides an eye witness, real-time account and obtains the highest priority police response as responding authorities are notified of a “visually verified” situation

Alarm Monitoring System and Video Verified Response

alarm monitoring systemA large percentage of triggered alarm signals are ultimately deemed to be false alarms. Police associations across Canada are very vocal about the burden false alarms place on their limited resources.

Users of security systems are subject to rising fines for frequent or repeated false alarm activity. Excessive false alarms can even prevent the authorities from responding at all, leaving your business unsecured.

Furthermore, many jurisdictions have implemented requirements for proof of security breaches (beyond the receipt of an alarm signal) prior to dispatching authorities. False alarms can also be an annoyance to your employees who must respond and investigate.

With alarm monitoring system services and security cameras, you have access to video verification services. Video verification is a new service available through our alarm monitoring centres in Canada.

When our alarm monitoring system operators receive an alarm signal from a video verification subscriber, they can immediately access recorded and live video to evaluate what is really happening at the affected location.

Police are contacted only when the alarm activity has been determined to be a real security event. As a verified alarm, authorities will typically assign higher priority to the associated dispatch. Response is based on your pre-determined instructions. This can greatly improve the effectiveness of your alarm monitoring system service.

Alarm monitoring system benefits available to video verification customers include:

  • minimized false alarm expense by eliminating non-essential dispatches of authorities
  • heightened safety for staff and customers through immediate identification of real threats
  • lowered business risk through expert situation analysis by trained Safe-Tech professionals
  • reduced guard patrol costs. Expedited response to verified alarm activity

Alarm Monitoring Emergency Response

When an alarm signal is received and verified by our alarm monitoring system center, the proper authorities are dispatched to your premises right away.

In the case of a fire alarm, the fire department is notified. Should a break-in be detected, you may have either your local police department respond or a private guard company respond. Depending in what region you live in, police often have a registration fee and a false alarm charge. You may contact your local police,or SafeTech Alarms for the rates in your area.

alarm monitoring systemFor a low monthly fee, you may choose to be registered with a private guard service rather than using the police to respond to alarm monitoring calls. In busy metropolitan areas, like Toronto, this may be a good choice.

Most private guard service companies offer four free alarm dispatches per year where as the Toronto Police charge $80.00 per false alarm dispatch. In the case of Security Guards, all security officers are properly trained and fully equipped to handle any situation.

Once the police or guards arrive, they will conduct a perimeter check of your premises, looking for any visible signs of forced entry. If a break-in has occurred, the police or guards will notify the station, who will report their findings to you.

Alarm Monitoring Private Security Guards:

Pairing security guard services with alarm monitoring system services provides superior protection. Guards can respond to alarm monitoring calls to provide immediate help.

For more information on our guards, please visit our security guards page. Our paid duty officers have been used in a variety of ways to ensure the security of our clients and their property. Some examples include:

  • Securing family and guests at weddings.
  • Securing crowd control at concerts.
  • Keeping the peace on a picket line.
  • Watching over a construction project.
  • Securing entire buildings and parking lots and even chaperoning individuals to and from a special event.

There is no substitute for the physical presence of a security guard.

PTZ Security Cameras https://safetechalarms.com/residential/security-cameras/video-surveillance-info/ptz-security-cameras/ Sun, 23 Aug 2015 00:56:27 +0000 http://egmtest.com/stech/?page_id=1489 The post PTZ Security Cameras appeared first on SafeTech Alarms.

PTZ Security Cameras – Point, Tilt and Zoom

PTZ Security CamerasOne of the most popular and effective types of security cameras that SafeTech offers are PTZ security cameras. PTZ stands for Pan, Tilt, and Zoom. Most PTZ cameras are housed in dome casings and have the capacity to pan which means move left to right and tilt which means move up and down.

A PTZ camera also has the capacity to zoom in and out. PTZ security cameras combine digital zoom with optical zoom to provide video surveillance.

The digital zoom is used to zoom in and out while the optical zoom uses lens motion. In order to determine the total zoom of a PTZ camera multiply the digital zoom by the optical zoom. Due to all of these features a PTZ camera is one of the best and most secure cameras that can be installed at a home or business to provide added security protection.

The functions of a PTZ camera are controlled by an external keyboard. The external keyboard allows for PTZ security cameras to be programmed to view a certain area, they can also be used to sync a PTZ camera with a security alarm system.

When an alarm is triggered the camera can be programmed to pan or tilt to the area where the alarm was set off. The motion of the panning and tilting can also be programmed into the camera using the keyboard. For example a PTZ camera can be programmed to pan a hallway every 5 mins.

In addition the panning and tilting can be triggered by motion. For example if movement is detected in the hallway the camera will interrupt its schedule to view the area where the motion was detected.

The movements of a PTZ camera are often hidden within the dome casing of the camera. The domes are often smoked or darkened so individuals can not determine the direction the camera is pointing. This factor adds to the security elements of the cameras because individuals must assume that the camera is focussed on them at all times.

PTZ security cameras come in a variety of configurations including but not limited to weatherproof and day and night. Day and Night cameras provide a colour feed in the day time but a black and white feed at night for optimal viewing. Some of the more impressive features of a PTZ dome camera are the fact that it can move in all directions including 360 degree rotation as well as viewing straight down or straight up.

There are a few ways that PTZ security cameras can be installed. They can be mounted in a variety of locations using different mounting techniques such as pendant and recessed mounts. Both forms allow the camera to be hidden while at the same time enabling the camera to get the best view possible of the area targeted for protection.

The protection of a PTZ camera can be significantly increased when it is paired with a security alarm system. The chance of a break-in, theft or damage when a PTZ camera and a security system are installed is dramatically reduced. At SafeTech we are happy to provide both PTZ dome cameras and security systems. For more information contact us today.

The Advantages of Security Surveillance Systems Installing a security surveillance system is one the best ways to protect your home or business from theft, break-ins, property damage and much more. In the last few years there have been amazing leaps and bounds in the security technology available to the everyday consumer. These technological advances have not only made security surveillances system more efficient, they have also made the high-tech systems more affordable. These days a high end security surveillance system is accessible to any individual regardless of budget. In addition to the price there are a number of reasons to invest in a security surveillance system, most relate to the technological advances that are now available.

One of the many advances that have taken place with security surveillance systems in the past few years is the switch from film to digital video. Aside from providing far superior picture quality when compared to the older analog security surveillance systems the new digital systems are also able to store a lot more data. By hooking up your digital security surveillance system to a DVR you are able to digitally record all of your security camera footage to a hard drive. This system allows you to store your security footage far more efficiently than in the past. Another excellent advantage of new security surveillance systems is that digital video can be replayed over and over again without jeopardizing the quality of the video. In addition a digital video saved on a hard drive can easily be recorded onto a DVD and sent to the police or insurance companies should you experience a break-in or property damage.

Security Surveillance System According to Sean O’Leary, the President of SafeTech Alarms Systems in Toronto, another great advantage of modern security surveillance systems is their ability to sync up with other technological devices, such as smart phones. Smart phones are one of the most innovative pieces of technology available on the market today. Through the development of mobile applications designed to do everything from receive e-mails to track global positioning, our cellular phones have evolved to essentially become mobile computers. “A few companies have developed mobile applications that can connect your mobile smart phone to your home security surveillance system through a wireless internet connection” says O’Leary, “these remarkable smart phone applications enable you to view your security camera feeds from the palm of your hand while you are anywhere in the world. As long as you have a sufficient internet connection you can monitor your home or business in real time”.
